You know that feeling you get when you think “IT” can’t get any worse?
The overwhelming excitement and anticipation you feel anytime you close your eyes and imagine your future, or anyone else’s for that matter?
Your mind whirling with so many thoughts, ideas, and hopes that you need an extra strength Excedrin just to make it through the day?
That feeling you get anytime you look in your bank account and don’t see a fortune big enough to support a small country?
The emotional heart ache you feel when you look at your birth year and realize that you did not conquer the world as soon as you turned 21, like you planned?
Well….I am pleased and saddened to inform you that you, my friend, are a dreamer.
And as the dreamer’s president, I am pleased to have the company. It’s been a lonely group over the past years.
A little bit about myself, I am a VERY small time radio host, CBS employee, screen writer, hopeful entrepreneur, fashion/Music addict, work-a-holic on a biblical level, and most fabulous straight man you will ever meet, with the dream of world domination through television and media (Basically…I want to give Oprah, Tavis, Charlie, Anderson, Ellen, and Katie a run for their money (a.k.a. The Everest of dreams as far as I’m concerned))
As someone who quite literally grew up dreaming of a better everything (I did not grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth. Actually, sometimes there was no spoon at all, but more to come on that), I know exactly what those first few questions feel like.
The reason I started this blog, to be completely honest and keeping in the spirit of blogging, is that it came to me in the middle of the night like most of my great ideas. I am actually not a fan of blogging, and always felt that if I started one I would be figuratively spitting on my Journalism degree. However, I think there is a need for something like what I hope to accomplish.
For as long as you will have me, I hope to share with all of you my thoughts, hopes, rants, and raves that I know all of you dreamers out there feel. Everything from the quotes that keep me going and inspire me to be better, great images that I view religiously (great outfits, amazing homes, etc.), to those songs that make you want to get up and take on the day. In addition, my own personal journeys to break out and through my own insecurities, short coming, background, and family drama to finally take the leap from behind the camera to in front of the camera, and I mean that in more ways than one.
I’m not promising anything. It’s the first lesson us dreamers need to learn about expecting too much from ourselves and others. Nonetheless, if you stick with me on this journey, I guarantee gut busting laughs, the ugliest of the ugly cries, surprise, break through moments, and sparks inspirations in any and all forms. And hopefully we will come out on the other side better, wiser, accomplished, and not a day over 25. 😉
